CANSA Shavathon 2018
On Friday, 2nd of March, the DP1 class hosted the CANSA Shavathon event at Hout Bay International School. The turnout was amazing – around 150 people sprayed their hair, including many primary school students. On top of this, four courageous students and three teachers shaved their heads, and five brave girls cut their hair. This hair will be donated to make wigs for those suffering with this horrible disease. We are so proud of everyone who cut or shaved! The afternoon was filled with the smell of hair sprays, errant hairs in the wind, and the sound of clippers and scissors. We would like to thank everyone who participated and supported, and we hope for an even higher turnout next year!
We will be donating R8000 to CANSA, the Cancer Association of South Africa, to assist them in providing care and support to those affected by cancer. We are thankful to everyone who contributed, big or small, as you really have made a big difference.
Speaking of next year, we challenge Mr. Ruskovich to shave his head if R15,000 is raised!
See you next time and thank you once again,
The DP 1 class
