- Junior Primary: Maximum of 22 students per class
- PYP 4 – DP 2: Maximum of 24 students per class
Students choose from French, Spanish, or Afrikaans as their additional language from PYP 1.
No. Our students graduate with a Matric exemption, so Afrikaans is not required for entry into South African universities.
No. Hout Bay International School is strictly cell phone free. We encourage students to focus on learning, play, and social interaction without distractions from personal devices.
In the Primary School, students use shared iPads provided by the school for research, presentations, and classroom activities as needed.
In the High School, we are a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) school, so all students are required to have their own device. While we do not specify a brand, we recommend a laptop rather than a tablet for optimal learning.
For student safety, the school has a firewall and online protection measures in place to ensure a secure digital learning environment.
